In January 2025, Computer Science (CS) Leads from all nine Educational Service Districts (ESDs) partnered to deliver five virtual, two-hour workshops for school districts awarded planning-phase funds through the 2024–2025 OSPI CS Education Grant. District teams from Blaine, Bellingham, and Winlock participated in the sessions, engaging with CSforALL’s SCRIPT (Strategic CSforALL Resource & Implementation Planning Tool) framework. SCRIPT guides district teams through collaborative visioning, self-assessment, and goal-setting activities designed to support the development or expansion of a comprehensive K–12 CS education implementation plan focusing on six essential areas: Leadership, Teacher Capacity and Development, Curriculum and Materials Selection and Refinement, Partners, Community, Technology.
CS Leads facilitated the workshops, offering resources, guidance, and opportunities for teams to develop strategic implementation plans tailored to their district’s specific needs and context. Districts worked together to set both short- and long-term goals to support equitable and sustainable CS education, and CS Leads will continue to support the districts through their processes.
Additional SCRIPT workshops were offered regionally by ESD 171 and ESD 105 for OSPI CS Education grant recipients. ESD 171 provided a two-day SCRIPT workshop series in February at ESD 171, facilitated by CS Leads Holly Bringman and Pete Phillips, with participation from Entiat, Mansfield, Pateros, Waterville, and Wilson Creek school districts. In March, Granger school district engaged in the two-day SCRIPT workshop series facilitated by ESD 105’s Regional Ed Tech Coordinator and CS Lead Mike Batali.
