Teachers showing their seed planters they designed and built.
Through a ClimeTime grant, ESD 105 Regional Science Coordinator Luke Matlack and ESD 105 Regional Educational Technology and Computer Science Coordinator Mike Batali designed and provided a professional learning opportunity for grades 5-8 Science teachers that integrated the use of a Micro:bit with the Climate Action “Land” kit to design a moisture sensor/automatic watering system and a scaled down version of seed planters (which in this case, delivered M&Ms through a motorized chute along the programmed route!). Pictured are participants in action from the March 7, 2023 session.
